MAIN SQUARE

MAIN SQUARE

Arturo Prat Chacón main square stands out for its acoustic oyster stage and the sculptures and bronze murals by Gregorio Berchenko, which pay homage to the Chilean poets Gabriela Mistral and Pablo Neruda.

Its fountain is an allegory to the numerous flocks of seagulls that cross our skies and the great tree in front of the San Peter’s Church is a sacred castor of the Buddhist tradition, planted by the lady of Scottish origin Inés Chesney in 1894. A beautiful point of meeting for the inhabitants of Coquimbo and tourists.
